Our Mission
Lion's Hope is a nonprofit seeking to raise funds for special needs families who need to purchase adaptive equipment that is not covered by insurance. This equipment can help improve the quality of life for these children. We strive to provide a brighter future for these families and children by lightening the financial burden and giving these children the tools they need to thrive.
On September 1, 2022 our world changed forever. Our son Leo entered the world, not nearly as loud and mighty as we were hoping. Little did we know, he had undiagnosed Spina Bifida. We spent the next two months at Children's Minnesota receiving five surgeries to help him get to a better place. We would later spend another two months at Children's Minnesota for two more surgeries, one being his tracheostomy. Life had become something we didn't recognize, but we had Leo. After his trach, Leo thrived. He was so happy and we were able to find a new sense of "normal".. a word I have come to not use. We use the word, "typical", who wants to be normal anyways??? Once we got home we had so many questions and concerns about how life would look for Leo! We were told Leo would probably not walk and will have multiple physical disabilities. Leo is three years old & is thriving! We are fortunate enough to be able to provide items that are not covered by insurance such as supplies to make Leo's food, wagons to carry Leo and all his supplies, z-vibe, etc. But we know families who are not able to cover these items and we want to give them a hand, because we know that financials should be the last thing on your mind when you are trying to help your special little one achieve their goals!
